A funeral service for Domingo will be held Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, Texas. Following the funeral service will be an interment at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas.
Domingo grew up in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. He was the oldest of 23 siblings. While working as an inspector at a factory, he was called to serve his country, a duty that he respectfully performed with great honor by joining the US ARMY. He proudly served in the Korean War, towards the end of his term he was wounded by an enemy bomb. Few years later, in 1956 he married the love of his life, Antonia. Together they had 5 children, 18 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren.
He graduated with the honors of Summa Cum Laude with a major in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico. Domingo and his wife were the owners of a prominent meat market, where they served devoutly the entire community of his hometown Vega Baja and adjacent towns for more than 50 years.
Domingo was a man of honor and integrity, a person that anyone could count on. He was smart, strong, responsible, and an efficacious provider for his entire family. He was a pillar of strength, as well as resilient, courageous, a fighter, fearless, righteous, handsome, among so many more attributes. He demonstrated his love towards his family through his actions, which spoke louder than words.
Domingo was a believer, he loved God and knew that one day he would get to Heaven and meet his Creator. On November 21, 2020, through his faith, he was able to see his Heavenly Father. Today, he is running in Heaven with a perfect body, pain free and happy.
Domingo passed away at home surrounded by family members, where he lived with his wife, Antonia and his daughter, Carmen.
Domingo is survived by his wife of 62 years, Antonia “Toñita” Vega-Padilla; his three daughters, Angeles
“Lucy” Camacho, Carmen “Tata” Camacho and Maria “Maggie” Camacho and one son, Luis “Papo” Camacho; 18 grandchildren: Gueysha, Yecimar, Edwin Alexander, Benjamin, Wilfredo, Maribel, Melissa, Andre, Andres, Antonio, Cristina, Angelica, Monique, Victoria, Mathew, Stephanie, Esteban, and Michael; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Maria Antonia and Maria Esther; his best friend, Jose “Joey” Rodriguez; and his favorite pet, Luna.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino Camacho and Agapita Narvaez, his brother, Juan Camacho, his sister, Milagros Camacho and his dear daughter, Migdalia Camacho.
