If you were ever curious about just about anything, Don Schulz was a man to know. He had a hungry mind for a range of topics from the expansion of the highway system, to science fiction, to obscure British comedy. He loved big band music, road trips, and a good breakfast pastry.
Born in Chicago as the first of five children, he served in the US Navy, completed law school (and passed the bar), before a long career in civil service for the Department of Defense. He was a man defined by his generosity, humility, loyalty, and subtle humor.
Most of all he was a loving and beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and bride of 51 years, Jill; his daughter Shari, her husband Ted, and their children Parker, Owen, and Abbey; and his son Marc and wife Meredith; along with three siblings and almost too many nieces and nephews to count. May the yellow brick road lead him home.
