Donald was born in Dumas, Texas on September 6, 1954. He worked for 50 years in the oil industry as a hot oiler & pumper. Donald had a variety of passions including hunting, fishing and being prepared. He loved to share 'fishing time' with his boys, they fished from lake Balmora to Amistad. He was a devout member of First Baptist Church. Family & friends were never forgotten, and Donald took care to celebrate every birthday and holiday.
His son's favorite memories are of fishing at Balmorhea Lake, Amistad Lake and learning to shoot at the shooting range.
He leaves behind to honor his legacy; his sons, Derek & Wesley Bassham, parents Virgil & Betty Bassham, brother, Joe Bassham, sister Verna Fathery, & grandchildren, Tim Bassham & Elliot Bassham.
The family would like to extend a special thanks Guiding Light Hospice, Dr. Robert Horn & Bryan Lin M.D.
