Earl Hall Boutelle Sr.

Earl Boutelle, Sr., a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a pillar of strength and tough-mindedness passed away at Audie Murphy VA Hospital on July 11, at the age of 79 after a short hospital stay. His son Earl, Jr., was at his side, and his passing was marked with an Honor Walk and Taps. The family thanks the care given to Earl by the Brooke Army Medical Center and the Audie Murphy VA Hospital.

Born to Myrtle Delgado and Alton Boutelle on November 21, 1946 in Jamestown, NY, Earl lived a full life defined by courage, honor, compassion and a great sense of humor. Earl was quick with a verbal comeback and enjoyed joking with people as soon as he met them.

Earl’s 22-year military career began in Vietnam as a Combat Medic in the US Army. He attained the rank of Sergeant First Class and retired with honor. Earl continued his working life and retired a second time from the Southwest Business Corporation where he was known for his attention to detail, leadership, and strong management skills.

Earl joins Lena, his beloved wife of 40 years, who preceded him to heaven. He leaves behind daughters Holly (Eileen) Grow and Valerie Wright, and sons Earl Jr. and Gary Boutelle, and six grandchildren, Heather, Kaitlyn, Jeffrey, Kendall, Caleb and Lauren. In addition to extended family in New York and Florida, Earl was also an integral part of Lena’s extended family. The extended family was a tremendous comfort during Earl’s illness.

Special thanks sent out for the visits from Betty, Steve, JJ, and Renee as they provided comfort, support, shared love and memories with Earl during his hospital stay. Earl’s dedication to family and great sense of humor will be deeply missed!
