Erna Kirst Secades

In Loving memory of Erna, 79, of Universal City, Texas, who died on November 14, 2010. Born in Olau, Germany, on December 25, 1930, she immigrated to this country with her young son, Frank, Jr. (“Franco”), to join her husband, Frank. The settled in Tampa, Florida, and moved to Selma, Alabama; Greenville, Mississippi; Universal City; and then Naples, Italy; with the military, eventually leading back to Universal City, Texas, where her husband, Frank, was assigned at Randolph Air Force Base in 1968. She worked at Randolph National Bank as head teller, and later at Jan’s Hallmark in Universal City, for almost 30 years.

Married for 51 years to her beloved Frank, before his death in 2001, she is survived by her loving Son, Franco, and his wife, M.J., of St. Augustine, Florida; Sister, Hilde Kirst, of Weiden, Germany; Niece, Florina and her husband Bernd Schellenberg, of Germany; their son, Martin Schellenburg; and many wonderful friends who were also her family. She will be sorely missed.

The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home, on Monday, November 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 12:00, directly after the visitation. Graveside services at Fort Sam Houston will be directly thereafter, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
