Esperanza B. Poole, age 78, of Schertz, Texas passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019. Esperanza was born September 28, 1940 in Cebu, Philippines.

A visitation for Esperanza will be held Sunday, September 22, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 23, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A committal service will occur Monday, September 23, 2019 from 11:15 AM to 11:45 AM at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.

Biography

Esperanza was born on the Philippine Island of Cebu, to Modesto and Cornelia Bacus. She was the youngest of 15 children. She survived WWII as a child and met her husband in 1965 in Angeles City, PI . They left the Philippine Islands in1967 to relocate to the United States to start their family.

Esperanza was a unique individual, someone you only needed to meet once to remember forever. Her tiny frame paired with her enormous personality was something that was impossible to overlook. She was carefree, easy going and loved everyone unconditionally. She spoke her mind freely and was confident in what she believed. Esperanza enjoyed walking her dogs, playing cards, watching movies, dancing and spending time with her family. She loved her family more than anything in this world. She expressed it every chance she could with endless kisses and hugs. Her laugh and smile were contagious and would fill any room.

Esperanza is survived by her husband of 53 years, Douglas Poole, her children Daniel Poole and Connie Poole (son in law Emiliano Alvarez Jr.), the loves of her life her grandchildren, Valerie Alvarez (Miguel Esparza), Emiliano Alvarez III aka Tres, and her great grandson Thiago Esparza.
