It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my mother, Esther Trujillo. She was born on November 7, 1931 and passed away on October 6,, 2019. She was preceded in death by my father, Frank A. Trujillo, brothers Nickolas Rodriguez and Lee Rodriguez, sisters Maria Gonzales and Clara Camacho. She is survived by her only child, Robert John Trujillo, and his wife Linda Best Trujillo and two grandchildren; Frank Antonio Trujillo, his wife Melissa and sons Max and Jack; and Robert John (Bobby) Trujillo II, his wife Tiffany and children Robert Bryant and Mattie Pearl.
Esther was a long-time resident of Universal City and was co-owner of Frank’s Western Wear on Pat Booker Rd from 1972 until closing in 2005. She was a kind, loving and funny person. She would end each conversation with “I Love You”. She loved to shop and would always corrupt nieces by taking them on shopping sprees. In recent years she moved to be with her son in North Carolina and was there on her passing. At the time of her passing, Esther stayed at the Parish House, a home with six senior ladies and 24-hour care. We are eternally grateful for the comfortable life that they provided for her. Esther will be returned to her beloved San Antonio where she will be interred next to her husband of 47 years.
A viewing will be held at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City on Sunday the 13th from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and another viewing will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma TX on Monday at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass at 11:00 and interment immediately thereafter at Holy Cross Cemetery on Nacogdoches Rd near Rolling Oaks Mall.
Flowers may be sent to Colonial Funeral home starting Friday.
