

Frances Murray Foster, born August 2, 1928, Tacoma, Washington, passed away August 26, 2016 in San Antonio. She has resided in San Antonio since 1971. She is preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Charles F. Foster, brother James Murray, sister Mary Verner and grandson Christopher Foster Montgomery. She is survived by her children Linda Foster Wurzel, Karen Foster Montgomery and Charles Murray Foster; grandchildren Jennifer Richardson, Michael Wurzel and Elizabeth Nicole Foster; great-grandchild Alexis Jade Richardson; sister-in-law Maxine Hargis; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was educated in Washington Parochial and Public schools. She married Charles F. Foster on March 18, 1950 and travelled and lived in many parts of the United States and the world during his military career. Frances was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. As a military wife she was very active in post and community organization, and since 1971 has been a Fort Sam Houston Thrift Shop volunteer. For many years she assisted with the Randolph Air Force base CCD program. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma. Interment will follow at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
