Francisca Z. Perez, age 77, has joined our Lord on Monday, June 19, 2018. She was born in New Braunfels, Texas to Ramon and Eulalia Zavala on October 4, 1940 and was the third eldest of ten children. Frances enjoyed making crafts, specifically decorations for family life events, listening to Mariachi music, watching cooking and dance television shows, volunteering at her church, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Petra Hernandez. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Pedro S. Perez , 3 brothers, (Ramon, Juan, and George) 5 sisters, (Andrea, Guadalupe, Susana, Mary, and Ernina) 3 children, (Pete Jr. and spouse Viki, Armando, Linda and spouse Mariano Guerrero), 5 grandchildren, (Nathan Perez, Amber Martinez, Brittney Dorman, Marissa Schlesman, and Adriana Guerrero) and 6 great-grandsons (Chance, Chase, Cash, Chaz, Cruz, and Dean).
Frances was an active member at her church, Good Shepherd, and a member of the Lady’s Altar Society.
She will be remembered as a wonderful woman of God, a warm hostess and diligent coordinator, and for her beautiful warm smile. Frances was known for her quick wit and frank honesty. That honesty, always delivered with sweet humor and earnestness. Her love for her family, much like her faith, was complete and unwavering. She found much joy in the service of others, and shed happy tears at the smallest of kindnesses showed to her in return. As a wife, mother, sister, tia, prima, grandmother, and great-grandmother she will be remembered for her selflessness and quiet strength, even in the most difficult times. She looked to God's will in all things, and always responded with "Si Dios Quiere" (God willing) when talking about the future. Although Frances was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know her, the legacy that she leaves behind shall endure through her family forever. As she would always say before anyone would leave her home, “Go with God”.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 10:00am at Good Shepherd Catholic Church and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be between 5:00- 9:00 pm at Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday, June 24, 2018 with a Rosary beginning at 6:30. The family has asked if you would like to share a special moment you had with Frances, to please share a brief eulogy following the Rosary.”
