Frank Scharsch

It is with profound sadness that the family of Frank Scharsch announces his passing from this Earth on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at the age of 81. After an extensive, year long battle with cancer and arthritis, we believe that Frank surrendered to the will of God. Frank went on hospice care on November 17, 2025 and boy, did he keep his friends, family and nurses busy ‘round the clock. Just days before his passing though, we partied with him on his 81st birthday!

Frank was born on July 29, 1945, to parents, Florence and Arthur Scharsch, in Baltimore, Maryland. In his youth, Frank ran with a gang until he discovered that his “number” was about to come up, so he hastily joined the United States Air Force at 17 years old and stayed for a hefty 20 years. Frank retired as a Master Sergeant and continued working in Civil Service for another 17 years.

It was when he was stationed in Hawaii where he learned of his passion for golf. Frank was an excellent golfer and stayed out of trees (most of the time). Before he joined the Air Force and learned of his passion for golfing, Frank had a heart for dancing on The Buddy Deane Show, which was featured in the movie Hairspray, back in Baltimore, where he participated for a year and a half.

It was also on a dance floor in Kansas City, Kansas, on Halloween night where Frank met his loving wife, Connie in 1995. They married in 2000 in Key West, Florida and shortly thereafter, both gave their lives to Christ and were born again. Despite being almost 60 years old, at this point, Frank dedicated his life to his God and the church. Frank was a faithful attendee of Calvary Chapel San Antonio and Calvary Chapel Newport News, in Virginia. Frank even helped youths at Calvary Chapel SA by tutoring math.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 26 years, Connie Scharsch; Son: Frank C. Scharsch; Step-Daughter: Stacey Lamer (Chad); Grandson: Andrew Scharsch; Granddaughter: Samantha “Sammie” Valdivia (William); Step-Granddaughter: Kennedy Lamer; and one brother.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and his son, Curtis Scharsch.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, August 15, at Calvary Chapel of San Antonio - 2935 Pat Booker Rd Ste 118, Universal City, TX 78148.
