

Fujiko A. Massoth died on her 89th birthday on December 15, 2025, in Live Oak, Texas. She was born on December 15, 1936, in Okinawa, Japan. Fuji married Ralph P. Massoth, Jr. while he was stationed in Okinawa with the U.S. Air Force. They traveled around the world with Ralph’s various Air Force assignments, finally settling in Universal City, Texas upon Ralph’s retirement.
Fuji had a talent for flower arranging and worked as a florist at Contreras Flower Shop in Schertz. Even after she retired, she would help out on the busy days of the year like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day.
Fuji was a practicing Buddhist and an active member of the local chapter of Soka Gakkai International (SGI), where she became close friends with other Japanese military wives.
Fuji was predeceased by her husband Ralph in 2007. She is survived by her sisters Miyoko Chinon and Sachiko Fukumura of Okinawa and sister-in-law Linda Lipton and husband Matt and brother-in-law Lindsey Massoth and wife Janet of Indiana, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd., Universal City, TX 78148
She will be interred at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with her beloved husband Ralph in a private ceremony.
