Garland Edward Harvey Jr.

We mournfully announce the passing of Garland “Gardy” Edward Harvey Jr, 67, of Universal City, TX. Gardy passed away on January 18th, 2023, after a long challenging battle with multiple illnesses. Gardy, born to Garland Edward Harvey Sr and Bettye Margaret Harvey, took his first breath on May 5, 1955. Gardy was a force to be reckoned with and thrived on hijinks and tomfoolery. He graduated from Judson High School in 1973 and attended classes at Tarleton State University. He soon found his way to the Customer Service field and worked for Southwest Airlines in the Reservation Center where he thrived. While Gardy never married, he lived a full and vibrant life, full of travel with more friends than you could count. His nieces and nephews meant more to him than words can describe. When Gardy retired, he devoted most of his time to his dogs. He rescued countless dogs over his lifetime and he made them his life. We will miss him dearly. Gardy was predeceased by his parents Garland and Bettye Harvey. He is survived by his sister Linda Harvey Sadler, niece Dawna Sadler Haug & family, and nephew Justin Sadler & family. A Visitation will be held Saturday January 28, 2023 from 1:00pm-3:00pm, and a Celebration of life to follow at 3:00pm at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. Interment will be a private service after the Celebration of Life.
