After obtaining his Bachelors in Business Administration, Gary had a number of management positions and then decided to set a new course in his life by received training in the military. Later he joined the United States Postal Service as a Electronic Technician from 1996 to 2015.
As a member of the Helotes Independent Baptist church, Gary had a strong relationship with the Lord. Even on his deathbed he held his beliefs in the Lord Jesus Christ true to the end.
On February 13, 2019, Gary was admitted to the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for the last time. It was discovered that he had an infection in his blood and near his heart. After 5 surgeries and 2 months in the hospital, Gary decided to request hospice care to relieve his pain and suffering.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Methodist for their sincere efforts and professional care that went above and beyond our expectations. They genuinely cared about Gary’s recovery and quality of life. Not only did they treat Gary like family but they included his wife and children in their care too.
Susan, Lawren and Bruce would not have made it this far without the prayers, thoughts and support of our friends and family. We appreciate the time you all have put in to care for us through this trying time.
