Gene Warren Jillson was born on July 20, 1946 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, to Elmer and Edna Jillson. He passed away on July 1, 2025 at age 78 in San Antonio, TX. He married Wanda Jillson on February 2, 1973. They were happily married for 47 years and raised three daughters and one son. He served in the United States Army from 1966 to 1969. A proud Wisconsan, he was a huge Green Bay Packers fan (and even part-owner!). He loved going to the casino with his wife and kids and playing spinners and card games with his grandchildren. He was always lending a helping hand to those who needed it.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Jillson, his parents, his siblings, Warren Jillson, Gerald Jillson, Roger Jillson, Nancy Walters, and Ronald Jillson, and his son, Tony Draper.
He is survived by his three daughters, Sheila Vestal and husband Mark of San Antonio, TX, Deborah Bomba and husband Martin of New Braunfels, TX, and Rebecca Rowe and husband Mark of San Antonio, TX; and by one sister; Sandy Smith. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Gene will be held Friday, July 11, 2025 from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A Committal Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, August 1, 2025 from 10:00a.m. to 10:20a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Shelter #1, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
