Genevieve Hartl, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 22nd, 2013. She was born in Cestohowa, Texas on December 29, 1919 to Benjamin and Anna Kotara. She is survived by a sister, Mary Moczygemba and a brother, Ben Kotara; daughters Patricia Hartl of Beeville, Texas, Beverly D’Amico and Debbie McNeill of San Antonio’ grandchildren Kim Edwards and Vanessa Dedear of Victoria, Texas, and Delain Cleveland of Roundrock, Texas; great-grandchildren Kirsten, Kalen and Courtney Edwards, Abigail and Carly Dedear, and Coroline Cleveland; and one great-great-granddaughter, Karsen Edwards. Ms. Hartl is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Hartl and daughter Barbara Shrader-Oates. Mr. Hartl has spent the last 11 years under the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Alamo Heights Health & Rehabilitation. Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City will be in charge of a graveside service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
