George was born in Fairfield, Connecticut, on April 19, 1949, to parents George Paul Lasko Sr. and Elanor Nagy Lasko.
George left high school and joined the Navy as the lead trumpet in the Navy’s band. He spent his four service years doing what he loved best, playing music all over the world. He went on for his 38 years playing music in bands and doing solo work in Corpus Christi until he moved to San Antonio. Then he became the Bingo King, installing bingo halls, fixing and cleaning all the bingo audio and visual systems over several states.
He and his wife, Janice, then started travelling the states with their three dogs. So much more was planned for their retired life that was cut short. He proved that every day is precious, and he made the most of it.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 10 years, Janice Lasko; his stepson, Jeremy Shanklin and wife Tara; his stepdaughter, Jenna Drake; three granddaughters, one grandson, as well as one great granddaughter and one great grandson.
The family would like to extend special thanks to all their friends and relatives for the love and support they have been shown in their time of need.
Arrangements for George have been entrusted to Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd, Universal City, TX 78148.
Words of comfort and cherished memories may be shared with the family below in the “Add a Memory” section.
