George Sacerich, born April 28, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2026.
George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 20 years, retiring with the rank of Captain. During his military career, he served a year in Thailand from 1969 to 1970. His dedication and commitment to serving his country were an important part of his life and legacy.
George was a man of many qualities. He was hardworking, strong-willed, independent and sometimes stubborn, but he also had a wonderful sense of humor and a good heart. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, whether that meant getting lost in good book, enjoying a favorite cocktail or glass of wine, or sitting back and watching the rain fall.
Some of his most cherished memories were found the little traditions that made life special. One of those traditions began when his wife, Jane, gave their daughter Coca-Cola puzzle for Christmas. Before long, putting puzzles together at the kitchen table became a Christmas tradition for George and his daughter. Over the years, they completed three large Coca-Cola puzzles, which his daughter carefully glued together and still proudly displays in her home, along with the memories attached to them. Smaller puzzles followed, but it was never just about putting the pieces together. It was about the time spent together.
George also had a special place in his heart for his beloved dog, Izzy, who was thoroughly spoiled with endless tummy rubs and treats every time he left the house. She certainly knew how to wrap him around her paw.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Louise Davidson Sacerich; his mother, Mary Markusic Krajacich; his father, Joseph Sacerich; his stepfather Nickolas Krajacich; his brothers, Joseph Jr., Richard, and Nickolas Jr.; and his sisters, Catherine, Millie, and Barbara.
He is survived by his daughter, Tonia Louise Sacerich, and his brother, Robert "Butch" Sacerich, along with other family members and loved ones who will carry his memory in their hearts.
George will be remembered for his strength, independence, humor, and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. His legacy lives on not only through the years he served his country, but through the traditions, stories, and memories shared with those he loved.
He leaves behind a daughter who will forever cherish their time together, the Christmas puzzles they completed, and the countless little moments that made their relationship uniquely theirs.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
