George L. Wise

George L. Wise, age 67 of San Antonio went home to be with the Lord on September 21, 2012. He was born January 31, 1945 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Dorris S. and Ruth (McDaniel) Wise. George was a 1972 graduate of Southwest Texas State University who held an MBA and a bachelors degree in accounting. He was a CPA and taught special education for several years. George is preceded in death by his mother, father, and two brothers. Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Frances (Turner) Wise; his son, Paul and daughter-in-law, Kelsey; his brother, Jim Wise of Houston and sister, Sharon Powell of New Braunfels and their families; as well as countless other family members. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and exercise enthusiast who loved children and had a contagious laugh. George was an avid Bible reader and prayer warrior. Visitation will be held Monday, September 24, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and funeral services will be Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will follow at Restland Cemetery on N. 22nd Street in Gatesville, TX at 3:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to San Antonio Youth for Christ at 5730 Kenwick San Antonio, Tx 78239 to the George Wise memorial.
