Hallie N. Huffman Smith

Hallie N Smith born July 28, 1933 passed away May 9, 2013 after battling cancer. She is survived by her husband of 60 wonderful years, Col.(ret.) James D. Smith; her brother Lyman Huffman; her daughter LeAnne Christensen and husband Charlie; sons Gray Smith and wife Judy, and Stanley S. Smith and wife Paula. She is also survived by grandchildren Katie Williston and husband Greg; Derek Smith and wife Magan; Annie Bollinger and husband Brian; Justin Smith and Christopher J. Smith, as well as great grandsons Cash Williston and Simon Bollinger. "Nita" was an amazingly strong Army wife, holding down the fort whenever "Don" was away. She was such a great bookkeeper for their finances that she continued that role for the local water department. She was the caregiver to many of her loved ones and friends when they needed her, providing them with everything from meals to baths. When she wasn't caring for people she was caring for animals-cats, dogs and even a baby squirrel named "Sparky" Nita was an outstanding cook - the envy of many friends and especially her daughters-in-law.
