Helen Louise Watkins

Helen Louise was born on September 27, 1938 in a log cabin in Candler, North Carolina to Richard and Edith Kerley. She attended and graduated Enka High School in 1957. She married the love of her life, Mitchell Watkins on September 17, 1957. They were married for 61 years of which she served 30 years as an Air Force wife.

Helen passed into eternity from complications of heart failure on October 12, 2018; she was eighty-years-old and lived a full life, much loved by her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father Richard Washington Kerley; mother Edith Annie May Kerley née Fowler; brother Malvin Loyd Kerley and his wives Connie and Gertie; brother Floyd Eugene Kerley and his wife Janice; sister-in-law Georginnia Watkins; and son Richard Norman Watkins.

She is survived by her husband Mitchell Lee Watkins Sr.; son Mitchell Lee Watkins Jr. and his wife Elizabeth; daughter Rebecca Ann Bridgewater née Watkins and her husband Larry and their children Kaitlyn Leanne Nava née Conran, Emily Louise Conran, and Lauryn McKenzie Conran. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Douglas Watkins Sr. and his children Douglas Jr. and Sherry Lynn; her sister-in-law Norma Edney and her children Steven, Arlene, Joey and Michael; and her brother-in-law Dennis Watkins, his wife Betty and their children Christopher and Jeremy. Further, she is survived by her brother Malvin's children Connie Lee and Malvin Jr.; and her brother Floyd's children Jason, Laura and Jeremy.

There are also numerous deceased and surviving first, second and third cousins and spouses; spouses of nephews and nieces; great and great-great nephews and nieces and spouses.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at:

Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Pavilion One, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas
