Born in Lubbock, Texas, to Beckie Pannell and Jesse Weed on Nov 29, 1951. He grew up with his 5 siblings before joining the US Air Force. Retiring from the USAF after 20yrs and a day, he then continued that service through a 20yrs career in Civil Service.
Jim was dedicated member of Lions International. He joined the Del Rio Host Lions Club in 1999, where he was honored to have served many positions including Club President. After moving to Universal City, he joined the Converse Lions Club in 2010. He was honored to serve as District Governor for 2 A2 in Lion year 2015-2016. He also helped re-establish Universal City Lions Club in 2016.
He loved his time as a member of the Del Rio Upstager Thespian Troupe. Enjoying many responsibilities as an actor, director, and sound & light tech.
Jim is preceded by his mother Beckie Pannell, father Jesse Weed, stepfather James Futrell, and siblings: Virginia Holler, Wilma Rollo, Becky Futrell, and Darrell Futrell.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marilyn Weed, his children: John Wilson, wife Cindy, Chris Weed, Doug Weed, Anne De La Rosa, husband Eddie along with four grandchildren: Henry Wilson, Aiden De La Rosa, Claire Wilson, and Ellie Wilson.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, between 4:00 PM and 7:30 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Road, Universal City, TX 78148. A committal service with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
