With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, and miracle, Jazlynn Miracle-Rain Pleasant. Jazlynn was born on July 8, 2024, at 4:54 PM at St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital, San Antonio, Texas, at just 27 weeks. Weighing 1 pound 6 ounces and measuring 12 inches long, she entered the world as a fighter and remained one until her peaceful transition into the arms of Jesus Christ on April 6, 2025, at 9 months old.
Jazlynn spent her entire life under the compassionate care of the St. Luke’s Baptist NICU team, Jazlynn had to fight from the day she was born. Her strength was shown, as she dealt with the multiple surgeries, the constant procedures, and the frequent day to day challenges. Even through all this, she didn’t cry much, because God had her in His hands.
She always gave a radiant smile that captured the hearts of everyone who met her, both near and far.
Though her time on earth was brief, Jazlynn’s impact was immeasurable. She was an answered prayer—a long-awaited daughter who embodied God’s faithfulness. Her smile lit up the life of so many people, just through hearing her story and seeing her beautiful pictures and watching her through videos.
One of her favorite moments were spent gazing into her mother’s loving face everyday, while she would play, talk, sing and pray with her. Every time she would pray or sing, Jazlynn would put her hands together to pray along and she would lift her hands up to praise the Lord as well. Another one of her favorite moments was her story time with dad, which helped soothe her to sleep. She loved to wake up when he would sing to her, and then would give him a stern look, as to say “mom what is that noise?” One look from her would melt his heart and make everything about his day so much better.
Her life will be cherished forever by her loving Dad and Mom, Tyrone and Misha Pleasant, her three Brothers, Jaden, Jason, and Javon Pleasant, her Grandparents, Michell & Lana Washington, her Great-Grandma Barba Washington, her God-Parents, Davon and Jasmine Tanniehill and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and extended family who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Jazlynn will be remembered for her incredible strength, her quiet bravery, and the light of God that shone through her. Her gentle spirit and joyful presence brought peace, laughter, and hope to all who knew her story. We will miss her so much. Words can't begin to describe the feelings we have, but we take solace in knowing, that she is in the arms of Jesus. God is sovereign and makes no mistakes. So we give Him thanks for the time we did have.
The Pleasant family would like to express their sincere gratitude to their family, friends, and their Spirit Filled Family Church community for the overwhelming love, support, and prayers during this time of sorrow. Your kindness has brought comfort and strength. God bless everyone!
