

Jerry H. Kotrola passed away on January 2, 2012 at the age of 83. He was born in Ellinger, Texas on April 27, 1928 to F. Rudolf and Julia Horak Kotrla. He is preceded in death by his parents; survived by his loving wife, “Liz” Elizabeth (Langhamer) Kotrola; children, Brenda Tindall, her husband Steve, Mark Kotrola, his wife Roxanne, Perry Kotrola, his wife Jennifer, Pam Kelley, her husband Allen and Pat Kotrola, his wife Lucia; brother, Frank Kotrla; 14 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jerry served in the U.S. Army for 2 years, worked in the oil industry as a pumper and production supervisor for many years. He was also a member of the VFW Post 2059 in Kirby, Texas. He enjoyed playing guitar and bass guitar with a band in his early years. He also enjoyed playing keyboard for himself and his family’s enjoyment in more recent years. Most of all he enjoyed family gatherings and casino trips. A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday January 4, 2012 from 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Service will be held at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church, Martinez, Texas on Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at St. Jerome’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the St. Jerome’s Catholic Church Building Fund.
