Born on November 15, 1943, in Victoria, Texas, Jimmy was the beloved son of Lillian and Jimmy Jewel Emmons. He pursued higher education with dedication, earning a Bachelor of Science from Southwest Texas, a Master of Arts from UTSA , and earned a Counseling Certificate from Trinity University.
Jimmy had a deep passion for golf and was a proud member of the Woodlake Country Club for many years, where he achieved the rare feat of five hole-in-ones. He also loved traveling and camping with his family in their RV, especially at River Bend Campgrounds along the Frio River and Goose Island State Park near Rockport.
Jimmy was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Gary Emmons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Paula Emmons; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Petry; sister, Patricia Moscatelli of Victoria, Texas; and granddaughter, Shelby Jo Petry.
Jimmy will be remembered for his laugh, warmth, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love for his family and the outdoors.
The family will hold a memorial service on Monday, January 12th from 2 to 4 pm at Colonial Funeral Home in Universal City, Texas.
