

Jimmy H. Pomroy passed away on July 7, 2014 at the age of 84. He was born on November 11, 1929 in Tampico, MX to Frank and Guadalupe “Moran” Pomroy. He was preceded in death by his parents; survived by his loving wife, Alvina Pomroy; children Betty Leila Pomroy-Martinez, her husband Armando, Jean King, her husband David, Thomas Pomroy, his wife Martha and Frank Pomroy; step-daughters, Theresa Lambert, her husband Richard and Patty Kaehler, her husband John; sisters, Betty L. Williams, E. Ruth Albert and I. Virginia Dial; and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jimmy graduated from high school in Elizabeth, West Virginia. His work history includes electrical and air conditioning systems at Randolph until his retirement. Upon his retirement from Civil Service, Jimmy worked at the State Hospital in charge of the Boiler Plant. Jimmy volunteered for many community projects, including delivery of Meals on Wheels. Jimmy was a member of the Schertz Chapter 911, Order of the Eastern Star, Randolph Masonic Lodge #1268 A.F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Alzafar Shrine. Jimmy was a Past District Deputy Grand Master of District 35B. He attended the Universal City United Methodist Church in Universal City. Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Universal City United Methodist Church at 90 Winn Ave. Universal City, Texas with Military Honors and Masonic Rites. The family will be accepting flowers or you can make a donation to a charity of your choice on behalf of Jimmy H. Pomroy.
