Capt. John H. Miller U.S. Air Force, Retired

John Miller, aged 89, of San Antonio, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2011 in San Antonio. John was born August 21, 1921 in Nykobing, Morso, Denmark and came to America at the age of 8. He was proud to be a Dane and even prouder to be an American. He grew up in Chicago, graduating from Senn High School and attended 2 years of Aeronautical College until he joined the service during World War II. He had a career in the Air Force and lived in many different states during this time. After he retired from the Air Force he moved back to Chicago and took over his father‘s business. He moved to San Antonio in 1993 and has resided in the Garden Ridge neighborhood for the past 18 years. He was a member of the Garden Ridge Lions Club for 18 years. He is survived by his wife Dorothy, his daughter Susanne Koob (John), and three grandsons, John IV, Eric and Jeffrey Koob, twin sister Ann Underwood, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Christian Houmoller Miller and Kirstine Vestergaard Miller, his baby sister Ruth and his brother-in-law David Underwood. Graveside Service and Interment with Military Honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 1:30 P.M.
