Our beloved mother, June J. Raddatz, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 86.
Born in Iowa, she was raised on a farm where she developed a deep love for the outdoors, farm animals, and the simple joys of country life. Some of her happiest childhood memories were spent working alongside her father on the farm, caring for the animals she adored, and baking and canning with her mother and sister, Darlene.
She was married to the love of her life, Robert R. Raddatz, for 45 years before his passing in 2001. As a military spouse, Judy faithfully served alongside Bob throughout his 30-year enlistment in the U.S. Air Force. Following his retirement, they enjoyed running their sports memorabilia business and spending cherished time with their grandchildren.
Judy was a wonderful homemaker who filled her home with warmth, love, good food, and comfort. In her later years, she found joy in crocheting, reading, and feeding the birds and squirrels. She kept her mind sharp with crossword puzzles, word searches, and playing games with her great-grandchildren. Her kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched everyone around her.
The memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of her children, Cynthia Raddatz (Vernon Rocchi), Dianna Contreras, Robert Raddatz (Kay), and Deborah Lipinski (John); her 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.
Her family is comforted in knowing she found strength and peace in her faith throughout her life. That faith guided her in the way she cared for others and loved her family so deeply.
Judy is now resting peacefully in God’s eternal love. She will be interred beside her husband at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
