Born on May 24, 1947, to Paul and Juanita McFadden of Wellsville, New York, Kathy spent her life caring for others, first as a nursing student, then as a devoted wife and mother, next to the numerous military personnel she helped in the Combat Related Special Compensation (CRSC) division of MILPO, and finally as a proud grandmother.
Kathy was a quiet force to be reckoned with and led her family with strength, patience, and clarity. She was the foundation and keystone of her family, ensuring everyone had a moral compass and the drive to pursue their passions. She was an exceptional military wife who stood by and supported her loving husband, Wayne David Garfield, for 57 years through various assignments and family adventures. She was also supportive and proud of her children, Eric Paul Garfield (predeceased her), Scott Russell Garfield, Dr. Theresa Ann Garfield, and her grandchildren, Alexandria Nicole Garfield and Audrey Erin Dorel.
In lieu of flowers, the family supports donations to your favorite charity in Kathy’s honor.
