

TSgt. LC Malone, Jr., U.S. Air Force, retired, 63 of Converse, Texas was called home by our Lord and Savior on May 29, 2014. He was born June 21, 1950 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucy Mae (Berry) Malone and grandparents Joel & Olivia Berry.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Gwendolyn Winona Malone of Converse, Texas & sons Mearran (Kristy) Malone of Newnan, Georgia and LC (Isabel) Malone III of Killeen, Texas. His is also survived by his beloved nephew Tony (Siggi) Moore; father LC (Ella Mae) Malone Sr., and mother-in-law Berdine Mckire. LC loved his grandchildren Jenay, Danielle, Ashley, Gwen, Arron, Malik, James, Nakiya and Jalen very dearly.
LC Malone Jr. is also survived by three younger brothers James, Joe (Tahundra), and Derrick (Iesha) Malone. As well as by his six cherished sisters Barbara Ludd, Alice Page, Linda (Don) Hollis, Cherly (Derrick) Taylor, Deborah (Esau) Carter & Berretta Malone. In addition, he is survived by various in-laws Byron Mckire, Terrell Mckire, Anthony Mckire, Randy (Jenny) Mckire, Larry (Gloria) Barnes, Rodderick (Pearl) Davis, Jeff (Sherry) Davis, Kevin (Sherry) Davis. LC also cherished a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews that he really loved.
The first of nine children, LC was born to LC Malone Sr. and Lucy Mae Berry on June 21st, 1950 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. He moved to East St. Louis as a young boy, where he was raised by his strong and faithful mother, along with his brothers and sisters. He later moved to Lovejoy, Illinois where he attended and graduated from Lovejoy High School as class president. During his junior year, he met and later married his teenage sweetheart, Gwendolyn Winona Marshall on September 20th 1969. From that union, they raised two sons Mearran and LC Malone III.
LC joined the U.S. Air Force on October 1st, 1969 and proudly served his country for over 23 years. Over his years of dedicated service, the family traveled across the world living in the Philippines and Italy and ending his military career at Kelly Air Force Base in 1989 in San Antonio, Texas. Along the way, they established many life-long friendships that continued throughout their life.
LC was a faithful member and greeter at Church of the First Born SA. He enjoyed helping the church in any capacity that he could like patrolling the parking lot and directing traffic. In addition, LC was a published poet in the National Library of Poetry, as well as an avid photographer. He attended Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas, along with his son, LC, III.

The Wake will be Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a sharing time at 7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be Friday, June 6, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. Both services will be at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors. A Repass and Celebration of Life will be held at the Olympia Hills Golf & Event Center, 12900 Mount Olympus Universal City, Tx 78148 following the graveside services.
