1st Sgt. Larry Edward Nelson U.S. Army, Retired passed away on March 25, 2012 at the age of 76. Larry was born on February 2, 1936 in Ligonier, Indiana. He is preceded in death by his father, Lester W. Nelson; survived by his mother, Dorothy A. Himes Nelson; loving wife, Ba Baygents Nelson; brother, Robert Nelson, wife Sheryl; sons, Larry S. Nelson, wife Susan, John E. Nelson, wife Yon Sun, Larry W. O. Nelson; sister in law, Inge Walters; grandchildren, Bradley, Preston Courtney, Amanda, Benjamin, Meaghan, Larry Lee and William; niece, Cheryl Walters; nephew, Gary Walters and great-grandchildren, Madaleine and Emma. Larry was a life member of the DAV Chapter # 17. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with the funeral service following on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:45 A.M. with full military honors.
