Larry Cillo was born in Williamsport, PA on November 3, 1940 to parents Paul and Cora Cillo. He left Pennsylvania in 1959 when he joined the US Air Force. His first assignment was in Orlando, Florida as a dog handler for the Security Police Squadron. His parents had moved to Sarasota, Florida and that is where he met his bride to be, Carolyn.In 1964, Larry and Carolyn were married. After serving a remote assignment in Tule, Greenland, he and Carolyn moved to California to continue his Air Force career. In 1966, they had their first son, Anthony (Tony). In 1969 while serving overseas in the Azores, they had a second son, Christopher and just 13 months later in 1970, their daughter Amy joined the family. They rejoiced in having their first grandchild, Kayla, in 1991, daughter to Amy and husband, Vod, and when their son Tony met and married his wife, Cindy, they gained two more, Robert and Katie. In 2003, Zachariah came along, a brother for Kayla. Larry’s greatest joy was to be alive to see his first great-granddaughter, Ava Danielle, born, February 2, 2017, daughter to Kayla and Kenneth Mackenthun. In 1997, Larry and Carolyn were elated to witness their youngest son, Christopher marry the love of his life, Margaret (Marty).
Larry and Carolyn joined Victory Assembly of God in 2003, and have been blessed many times over. Lawrence A. Cillo, “Larry”, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in San Antonio. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Cora Cillo and his sister, Annette Helmka. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn; three children: Tony (Cindy) Cillo, Chris (Marty) Cillo, and Amy (Vod) Magaña; four grandchildren: Robert Lozano, Katie Lozano, Kayla (Kenneth) Mackenthun and Zachariah Magaña and his great granddaughter, Ava Danielle Mackenthun; four brothers: Paul (Joyce) Cillo, Richard (Judy) Cillo, Frank (Jürgen Seyfried) Cillo and Roger (Jackie) Cillo. Larry is a veteran who proudly served 27 years in the USAF.
