Lila married the love of her life, James, at the age of 15 and immediately started a family of four boys. Jim served in the US Air Force and Lila's role as mother and household manager was made most difficult during Jim's long deployments overseas. Military life required frequent relocations, including Virginia, California, and Hawaii, but they spent most of her life in San Antonio where Jim retired and together were long-time members of First Baptist Church of Universal City. Lila and Jim were very rarely apart from one another. Her favorite pastimes were being with Jim and watching the Hallmark Channel.
Lila is preceded in death by husband Jim, with who she shared 64 years of marriage and granddaughter Angela.
She is survived by sons Larry (+wife Teresa), Michael (+wife Jean), Kenneth (+wife Sandi), and Brian (+wife Maureen), countless grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Chesley and Lamar, and half-sister Ernestine.
Visitation for Lila will be held from 5:00p.m.-8:00p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Colonial Funeral Home, 625 Kitty Hawk Rd., Universal City, Texas 78148.
