Lisa Kay Karpienski was born April 8, 1963 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She passed away on May 20, 2019 at the young age of 56 surrounded by her family. Lisa spent most of her life in Texas after living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Erie, Pennsylvania. She graduated from King High School in Corpus Christi in 1981.
Lisa loved animals and throughout her life she always worked with any type of animal that her situation would allow. She has nurtured and loved everything from Fish to horses, from hamsters to goats, from dogs to chickens, from cats to rabbits. Her dream was to own a petting zoo so others could experience animals, She did volunteer work at the Austin Humane Shelter so she could help as many as possible.
Family was very dear to her. She leaves behind her husband and best friend of 34 years Guy Karpienski and her 27 year old Daughter Erin “Dusk” Karpienski. Lisa is also survived by her mother and father, Carl and Barbara Clark of Windcrest, Texas, brother Michael Clark of Aransas Pass, Texas, sister and brother-in-law Karen and Andrew Simanski of Ashburn, Virginia, Nephew Zachary Simanski and niece Julie Samanski of Ashburn, Virginia, along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins scattered throughout the country.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday morning, May 24 beginning at 9 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in San Antonio. The Rosary will be recited at 9:45 am. The funeral Mass will be conducted Friday morning, May 24 at 11:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas. Interment and graveside service will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas. A luncheon will follow the burial at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in the Family Center to celebrate her life.
