

Lois was born November 18, 1943, in Chicago [L, and graduated from St. Mary's High School, in Chicago. Her education didn't stop after high school; she pursued and received her PHD with Honors in 1969 from New York School of Engineering and Science. Her brilliant mind opened many career opportunities for her. She was Associate Professor of Mathematical Systems for the University of IL in Sangamon. She also served as an Assistant Dean in Academic Programs. From there she moved on and taught at George Washington University in Washington DC. Her educational career continued as Dean of the School of Business as well as a Professor of Business Administration at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX, where she retired.
Retirement kept her busy with her husband of 23 years, Lloyd Sherwood, at their ranch in Mico, TX. In her spare time, she donated her artistic talent to the Hondo Art League in Hondo, TX, and used her business acumen to expand the League through various grants she initiated and established the League as a 501 (3)(c) non-profit organization. Lois also enjoyed square dancing, piloting small aircraft, and was a strong advocate of her 2nd Amendment Rights.
Lois is lovingly remembered by her husband, Lloyd Sherwood; her children, Thurston Louis Ackerman, Lenore (Lenni) Ackerman; her beautiful grandson, Rustyn Louis Ackerman, and her two brothers, Terance Graff and Kevin Graff in Chicago. She is preceded in death by their youngest daughter Mercedes Nicole (Sadie) Sherwood.
