

Lois Jean Thompson, beloved wife, sister, Mom, Grammy, and friend, passed away February 7, 2011. She was born February 10, 1930, to Howard and Alice LeGoullon, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended Wilkinsburg High School and followed her father as a Pharmacist, graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 1951. In 1953 she married her High School sweetheart, Hadley, and they remained devoted to each other for the next 57 years. She supported him throughout their Air Force career all around the world, and was a wonderful example of an Air Force wife. During their tour at the Pentagon, Lois served as an officer on the AF OWC Board, which was instrumental in the creation of AF Village. They made life-long friends wherever they went, including Laredo AFB and the “Laredo Gang”. An infant daughter preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband Hadley, sister Marilou Petrick, son Howard and wife Patty, son Hadley and wife Laura, grand-daughter Lauren Chase and husband Jeff, grand-daughter Katy Thompson, grandson Zachary Thompson, grand-daughter Hayley Thompson, and great-granddaughters Campbell and Caitlin Chase. A visitation will be held Monday, February 14 at Colonial Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a service Tuesday, February 15 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to the Salvation Army, Cal Farley’s Boys and Girls Ranch, St. Jude’s Hospital, San Antonio Center for Animals, or a charity of your choice.
