Born December 12, 1972 on the island of Guam, to Rene Sr. and Felicitas Lopez, Lorenzo was the youngest of five children. From a young age, Zo found the hobby of biking. It started with trick riding and filming his friends and himself doing daredevil maneuvers on their bikes, and as he got older, he continued to bike many miles a day as well as collect and restore “vintage” bikes.
Lorenzo graduated from Judson High School in 1991 after which he studied Radio/Television/Film Broadcasting at San Antonio College and earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in 1999. Zo had a passion for videography from a young age, and always ensured that as many of the big family events as possible were committed to film. He refined his skills working for news stations in San Antonio and Las Vegas, and regularly filmed weddings and other special events. He posted his personal works on his website ZoFilms.com, and the works he was proudest of and were most recognized were his documentaries.
Combining his love of biking and filming, Lorenzo was the Director, Producer, and Cinematographer of two “Ride Texas” films where he rode across Texas with groups of Wounded Warriors. Not only was he recognized for his films, but he made many lasting friends on those long adventures.
Always quick to smile and be playful, he will be remembered for his love of the Detroit Lions (even when they lost), his bikes, his love of the beach, his “concoction”, and his numerous collections. We will always remember his regular stop at Whataburger and album of choice on his way to South Padre and the “Lopez Ghost House Estate.”
Lorenzo is predeceased by his father, Rene Lopez, Sr. (1998) and his mother, Felicitas Flores Lopez (2022). Lorenzo is survived by his siblings, Rene Lopez, Jr. (Sharon) and Michelle Rafaela Delgado (Humberto) of San Antonio, Dolores Lopez of Austin, and Melinda Lopez of New Orleans. He is survived by his 7 nieces and nephews, Elise Olivia Hinojosa (Eloy) of Corpus Christi, Cameron Elizabeth Chamberlain (Derrick) of Salem, Oregon, Larissa Nicole Lopez of San Antonio, Charles Ray Lightfoot III of Waxahachie, Parker Harrison Lightfoot, Adam Christopher Delgado, and Mateo Rene Lopez as well as his grandniece, Vivian Selene Hinojosa and grandnephew, Wyatt Robert Hinojosa.
