Marcella Kahanek passed away on June 3, 2012 at the age of 94. She was born on April 21, 1918 in Comal, Tx to Ferd and Ottilie Reininger Friesenhahn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Kahanek; son, Patrick; brother, Jerome; sisters, Veronica, Ann, Eleanor, Margaret and Madeline; survived by her daughter, Kathy Garner, her husband Rick; son, Michael Kahanek, his wife Jane; grandchildren, Jay Garner, his wife Kim, Caroline Lightfoot, her husband Jesse, Alice Cantu, her husband Rocky and Paula Nidler, her husband Niklas; great-grandchildren, Justin, Kelsey, Jackie, Natalie, Trey and Emelie; Marcella is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary Recited at 7:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John Neumann Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
