Marcia Hidalgo suddenly left to be with her Mom and Dad on September 15, 2020 at the age of 65. Marcia was born on the side of the road in Columbus, Indiana – delivered by her Dad on April 15, 1955. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nadine and Larry Hidalgo. Marcia is survived by her siblings: Cindy (Jim) Holmgreen, Debbie Hidalgo and Michael Hidalgo; her nephews and niece and her great-nephew and great-nieces: J (Sue) Holmgreen (Tristan and Ava), David (Andi) Holmgreen (Addilynn), Adreann (Darren) Peters (Ryleigh and Laynee) and Joshua Hidalgo; her aunts and uncle: Birdie Rousse (Drew, David, Rachel Remus and Rebecca Pousson), Barbara Hidalgo (Danny and Glenn), Pat and Joe Gage (Janet Warter) and Julie and Vincent Shaffer (Alec and Blake); her extended sisters: Lisa Arizpe (Sam) and Carla Sanders. Marcia also leaves behind her Presidio Title family, most important to her Ronald J. Bates (Sally). She also leaves behind her two cats, Gumbeux and Roux. The family would like to thank Dennis Trappe who continued to help Debbie and Marcia after their Dad’s death.
Marcia graduated from Judson High School in 1973 and went to work for a title company and continued in that profession as an Escrow Officer until her death – 47 years later.
In 1974, when the San Antonio Spurs were still ABA, Marcia was a member of the first dance team, the Spurlettes.
Marcia was outdoorsy girl … sitting on the patio, sipping a glass of wine, and playing a game on her iPad.
Marcia did not have a huge bucket list. She visited many states and lived in England as an Air Force brat. She much preferred going to New Orleans – no not as a tourist on Bourbon Street during Mardis Gras – but blending in as a local, going to Harry’s Corner and going to restaurants that her favorite bartender would recommend. Her other big bucket item was visiting her friend Michelle Shetler at Shetler Fine Jewelers – never leaving empty handed.
Marcia left us way too soon and she will be missed so very much. The family takes comfort in knowing she is with Mom and Dad.
Say Goodbye
“It’s funny how the distance can make you feel close
And the things you lost are the things you want most
The weather’s fine here ‘perfect shade of blue
I guess that's why I've been thinking of you…”
