

Michael Jerome Olezene, began his life’s journey on a rainy July 6th, 1956 in Gulfport, Mississippi. Born into a military family, he was destined to travel the world to explore and defend this country. He was one of five children in the Olezene family with two older siblings and two younger siblings. Victor Olezene, father a career Air Force member and Douglass Olezene, a mom and homemaker preceded him in death as a result of cancer. Michael passed peacefully at the home of his sister, Gail Olezene on April 13, 2017 as a result of a long battle with Leukemia.
He attended schools in various places to include; Oklahoma, Ohio, the Philippine Islands, California, and Texas for Elementary school and high school. He was a member of the Randolph AFB High school football team prior to his graduation. After high school he enrolled at St Phillips Junior College for one semester, and went on to attend one year at the University of Texas/Austin.
He dedicated thirty one years to military service as an active and reserve specialist. His tours of duty included Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, in Denver, Colorado, Camp Red Cloud in South Korea, Bosnia, Stuttgart West Germany, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas and lastly Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington. Michael was a loving, kind and generous father to his daughter Carissa, and all of his siblings, Larry, Gail, David, and James. He was a gentle soul with a loving acceptance of anyone he encountered. He will be missed with the loving memory of his kindness, courage, perseverance, and commitment to family. He leaves behind his daughter Carissa, his siblings, and a host of friends who helped to support him during his battle with Leukemia, and during his lifetime.
