

Reverend Michael A. Six, BCM, MAR, (MSGT. U.S. Air Force, Retired), age 61 of Universal City passed away February 18, 2012. He was born August 19, 1950 in Manton, Michigan to Clayton and Ila Belle (Besaw) Six, Sr. Michael was serving as the Pastor at Harmony Baptist Church. His desire was to serve his Lord and he loved his Lord, his country, and his family. He spent 22 1\2 years in the military, and over 25 years in the ministry. He preached to the poor and needy as well as those who were more fortunate. He asks forgiveness from those who he has done wrong and takes with him a burden for lost souls. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clayton Six, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Jean) Six; son, Noel Maglaqui Six and wife Raquel; daughter, Wendy Marie Six; grandchildren, Johannamarie Six, Amber Nicole Six, and Jonathan Noel Six; brother, Robert Six and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 at 12:00 P.M. at Harmony Baptist Church, 12088 Old Corpus Christi Highway, San Antonio, TX 78223. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.

Reverend Michael A. Six BCM, MAR, MSGT. U. S. Air Force, Retired was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Michael will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Clayton and Ila Belle Six, Sr. Michael was raised with two brothers, Robert and Clayton Six Jr. Michael was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
Empathic and loyal, Michael was committed to making his new family happy. Michael worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Michael was blessed with two children, one son, Noel Maglaqui Six, and one daughter, Wendy Marie Six. Another blessing for Michael was the gift of three grandchildren, Johannamarie, Amber Nicole, and Jonathan Noel.
Fortunately, Michael enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Michael worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was the ministry. He spent 22 1\2 years in the military, and over 25 years in the ministry and was serving as the Pastor at Harmony Baptist Church. Michael always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.
Michael was a U.S. Air Force, Retiree. Through his hard work, he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. He received several awards recognizing him for his service, including a AF Training Ribbon, NCO Professional Military Education Graduation Ribbon with two oak leaf clusters, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with four oak leaf clusters, AF Overseas Long Term Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with one bronze service star, AF Good Conduct Medal with six oak leaf clusters, AF Outstanding Unit Award with eight oak leaf clusters, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, Viet Nam Service Medal with one bronze service star, AF Achievement Medal, AF Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. His fellow soldiers viewed him as a brother in arms and knew that he was as much a part of their family as their loved ones back home.
When Michael’s retirement finally arrived in 1992, he was well prepared. Michael retired form Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. Even in retirement, Michael continued to stay in touch with his old friends while making plenty of new acquaintances. Michael was active in his new community and felt fulfilled with the opportunities retirement offered him.
Simply stated, Michael was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Michael leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Reverend Michael A. Six.
