

MItsuru "Mitzi" Baggett, age 88, passed away November 14, 2016 at home with such grace and dignity as she lived her life. Mitzi is preceded in death by her husband Dan of 51 years, daughter Betty Jane, her parents and two brothers. She is survived by daughters Mary Friedling and Barbara Mains (Jeffrey), her loyal dog Dottie, daughter-in-law Caroline Manfred (Nate), granddaughters Cynthia Mitsuru Francis, Christen Barton, step-granddaughters Laura Cordell (Nathan), Jennifer Mains. Great grandchildren Alison, Ella, Calin, Connor, Katherine, Jude. Also survived by numerous family in Japan. Born July 16, 1928 in Nagano, Japan, she left after marriage at age 24 to begin their lives in America. Her special gift and talent was sewing and in 1969 went to work at Town & Country Fashions on Broadway for 18 years. Then opened Mitzi's Alterations in Lincoln Heights. She was a loving, devoted mother giving all her time and energy raising her family. While gracious and elegant she always seeked fun and adventure. Most of all she showed by example to family and friends how to be humble and kind. Visitation will begin Friday, November 25, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. with a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
