Naomi “Joyce” Speer passed away on October 27, 2011 at the age of 85. She was born on June 20, 1926 in San Angelo, Texas to Roland and Lela (Schultz) Perry. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred R. Speer, Sr.; son, Fred R. Speer, Jr., brother, A. J. Perry; sister, AlaRay Adams; and two infant grandsons, Shawn Robert Drake and Parker Grant Drake; survived by her children, Sandy Bednar, husband Ed, R. Wayne Speer, wife Lanell, Sherry Davenport, husband Johnny, Debi Shaw, husband Shawn, Diane Higginbotham and Gary Speer; brother, Dan Perry; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was a member of the Daughter’s of the Nile. A visitation will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Monday, October 31, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at San Jose Cemetery at 2:00 P.M.
