

Natalie E. Hendrix of Schertz, Texas left this life to be with her beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, April 12, 2012. She passed peacefully into eternity as she slept at home, surrounded by family and friends. Natalie was born on September 8, 1934 in Milledgeville, Georgia to Mary Grace Harrison and William Roy Harrison. A woman of strong faith, Natalie lived her life in service and gratitude to the Lord for the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made by dying on the cross for our sins. Her life was dedicated to the Word of God from which she received comfort, joy and strength, and she never missed an opportunity to share it with a stranger or a friend. She followed Christ's example of humility by tirelessly serving the needs of others. Always kind and patient, it was her gentle spirit and boundless love that endeared her to everyone she met on her journey through her life. In addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Natalie also enjoyed a 20 year nursing career, comforting and serving the needs of patients at Lutheran General Hospital in San Antonio, and Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento, California. She is preceded in death by her parents, William Roy Harrison Sr. and Mary Grace Harrison; her son, Mark David Efting; granddaughter, Ashlyn Nichole Efting; and stepdaughter, Caroline Riddle. Natalie is survived by her loving husband, Harry E. Hendrix Sr.; her brother, William Roy Harrison Jr.; her children, Warren Lee Efting Jr. and wife Tammy, Grace Efting Howell and husband David; stepson, Harry Hendrix Jr.; and stepdaughter, Marikathryn White; and 10 grandchildren. We wish to express our sincerest gratitude to the generous people who offered love, prayers, support, and food to our family during this difficult time. Special thanks to Rev. Taylor Williams, the deacons and the congregation of the Alamo City Bible Church, Dr. Bill Bradshaw, and the wonderful team of specialized physicians and nurses at Northeast Baptist Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, the 21st of April, at Alamo City Bible Church located at the Northcross Business Center, Suite 111 2800 NE Loop 410 San Antonio, Texas 78218.
