Nestor was self-employed before going to work for different air conditioning and heating companies. A few years later he went to work for Texas A&M Extension Service, where he later retired from in 2005. Nestor was a jokester, adventurer, and a man with never ending stories. He was also known as “Tio Toy” to many.
During his 83 years here on Earth, Nestor wore many different hats. He was a great cook, known for his delicious enchiladas, menudo, and charro beans. Nestor was a jack of all trades, a problem solver to his family, neighbors, and friends. His ultimate testimony to a life well lived was to serve others and his family. However, the hat that Nestor wore with the most pride and love was that of a father and grandfather.
Although we are incredibly saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is, once again, reunited with his parents, other family members, and so many of his friends.
He is survived by the love of his life, Ana; his sons, Gilbert (Maggie), Daniel (Jennifer), Matthew (Shirley). Along with his granddaughters, grandson, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
