Lori attended school in Austin, Texas and attended Austin Community College. Her early career was in retail sales and food service. She focused on raising her three daughters while working at the busy bookstore located in her church. Later she focused on her drawing and painting, creating many original works for her clients and friends. Her most treasured role was being a wife to Joseph, a mother to her daughters, and a grandmother to her six grandchildren. Lori's personality was distinctive, both very sweet and very strong, and was developed growing up as the only daughter in a family with three brothers. In her early years she experienced some rough and tumble adventures traveling with her evangelist parents. She had a strong passion and talent for music, playing the violin and participating in a Mariachi band. Because she had a beautifully mellow alto voice, she became a vital part of the praise and worship team at her church. She traveled to Sydney, Australia on two occasions to participate in a world music and bible conference. Her artistic talent developed after her daughters were older. She began painting abstract works with acrylic and oil paints. She continued to expand her portfolio into real life, birds and animals at the request of her audience, revealing a new level of talent. She took great joy in welcoming and spending time with her grandchildren, and Catherine (Caffy), her precious pet dachshund.
Lori is preceded in death by Johnny Macias, her birth father. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Wayne Dove, her three daughters: Ashley Bethea, Clarissa Lyons (Tighe) and Rikki Bethea (Joe); her parents, Clayton and Delia Mabry; her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Ryland and Gladys Peters; her three brothers, John Michael Macias, Ricky Ricardo Macias and Norman Christopher Macias; her three sisters-in-law, Danielle Macias, Kimberly Macias and Sara Macias, and a huge family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
