LTC Oliver L. Pickens, U.S. Air Force, Retired passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the age of 78. Oliver was born on January 17, 1934 in Decatur, Arkansas. He received many awards and citations including the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Sylvia Pickens; wife, Patsy Pickens; and brother, Leroy Pickens. He is survived by son and daughter in-law, Steve and Shelley Pickens; brother, Dale Pickens and his family; and Leroy’s daughter, Tara Kelly and her family. A visitation will be held on Thursday November 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service and interment will be held on Friday November 30 at 11:30 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
