Orlando Gonzales

He was preceded in death by his parents Simon and Hipolita (Palacios) Gonzalez, brothers Jesus and Cornelio, and sisters Lucia Elizondo, and Isabel and Bonnie Lopez.

Survivors include his beloved wife of almost 58 years, Dora (Maldonado) Gonzales, children Orlando Gonzales (Patricia) and Elizabeth Gonzales, grandchildren Erica Diaz, Lauren Gonzales (mother Christina Teel), and Nathan Gonzales, great granddaughter Bianca Diaz, brothers Chema, Isidro, and Reynaldo, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Orlando ended his 34 year career with H.E.B. Grocery as the company perishable supervisor and then continued in the business, working for Washington Apples. He turned his interest in antiques into an enjoyable retirement activity, owning an antique business. Orlando loved the rural south Texas life, spending much time at his ranch near LaVernia.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Tx. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Guadalupana Society.

Orlando will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
