

Lt. Col. Paul E. Picket, U.S. Air Force, Retired, 92, died with his family by his side in his home in San Antonio, Texas on May 12, 2011. Born April 24, 1919, in Montreal, Canada to William and Maude Picket, he attended and graduated from University of Texas in 1948 with a B.S. in Geology. There he met and married June Schneider. They were married for 58 years until her death in 2006.
Paul served in the Air Force for 31 years until 1974, attaining the rank of Lt. Col. He was dedicated to the USAF, even serving as a volunteer after retirement. He and his family had the opportunity to travel and live in different parts of the world, where they made many friends and fond memories. He will be especially remembered not only for his dedication to his job and country, but also his love of family, his wit and charm as well as his love of song.
Survivors include son Paul Picket, Jr., wife Julie; daughter Carol Lynn Fayter, husband George; grandchildren Matthew & wife Heather, Allen, Greg and Megan Picket; great-grandchildren Tayler, Zak and Maddy.
A graveside service will be held at 1:45 on Friday, May 20, 2011 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with Military Honors.
The Picket family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the team of wonderful caregivers who devoted their time and love to Paul, keeping him happy, healthy and at home during the last few years of his life.
