Ralph met his beloved wife, Sharon, in 1955. Following his service in the US Navy, they married in 1960 and moved to Oak Forest, IL and raised their family. Together, they built a full life with family and friends and carried on the traditions of old. He dedicated 40 years to a career at Argonne National Laboratories as a machinist. Throughout his career he was known as a seasoned professional which earned him deep respect amongst his colleagues.
After retirement, Ralph and Sharon relocated to Schertz, TX to be closer to their family where they have spent the last 20 years. They have continued enjoying the same passions from Illinois to Texas including playing bridge, gardening, dancing, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Ralph was an avid Notre Dame football fan, as his father was, never missing an opportunity to cheer on his team (even forgoing date night with his future wife). He was known for his handyman ability and being methodical before tackling each and every project. He was always willing to help neighbors, friends and family and to share his knowledge. With his patience and hard work, there was never a project he couldn't conquer.
His legacy will include his sense of humor, his passion for gardening, his love of Notre Dame football, but most of all his unwavering love for his family and friends.
Ralph is preceded in death by his father Ralph and mother Anne. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, of 65 years and their three children: Jeanine (Carl) Claus, Keith (Jennifer) Kuechler and Patrice Kuechler.
