Ram was born in San Antonio, TX to Eduardo and Trinidad Garcia on October 29, 1949. He was a graduate of Brackenridge High School. He worked for HEB Transportation for several years and retired in 2004. Ram served in the Air Force for 16 years, finishing his career as an AF Tech Sergeant. He was also given the opportunity to play on the Air Force softball team for three years and was selected to be part of the Inter-Service All-Star teams from 1972 to 1974.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eduardo Garcia Jr. and sister Lucia Macias.
Ram is survived by ex-wife Dora Stone, their two children Mark Garcia and Chris Garcia; his children Christopher, Alyssa and Jewel.
In 1995, Ram and Celia began their life and blended family together. He is survived by wife Celia, children/grandchildren Roy Perez (San Juanita), Jennifer Benson (Donnie), Joshua, Zoey, Marcus Moreno(Sarah), Nichole, Renee, Ally, Joy, Summer, Austin, Madison, Kiana, Danni, Dylynn and D’lila. Also his brother in law Rene Castillo (Grace) and their children Hannah and Jaden.
Ram is also survived by 3 brothers Louie, Ricardo, Thomas and sister Antonia along with many nieces and nephews plus extended family and friends.
Ram enjoyed dancing, playing golf and softball and was a huge UT fan. What he enjoyed more than anything was attending all his children/grandchildren’s sporting events, band competitions, dance competitions, plays and every other activity they were part of.
Over the past 10 years, Ram spent his time traveling with his “Tonka” for her select softball career. He enjoyed watching her play the sport he loved to play himself. Ram loved supporting her through her journey with the Hitt and was one of the organization’s biggest fans. The family will start a scholarship in Ram’s name to be presented to one of the Hitt players annually.
